Points and Year End Awards

An Awards Banquet will be held every year at the end of the show season. In order to qualify for a year end award, a horse and rider team must show in a minimum of 3 shows in the same division. Champion is awarded to the horse and rider team with the most points in the division at the end of the year. In the event of a tie for Year End Division Champion, two champion awards and no reserve will be awarded; if there is a reserve tie, the champion award and two reserve champion awards will be awarded.

For divisions and requirements for each division, see "Year End Award Divisions" at the bottom of the Class List page.

Points are awarded for each class as follows: First place = 6 points, Second = 5 points, Third = 4 points, Fourth = 3 points, Fifth = 2 points, and Sixth = 1 point

Points will go to one rider/one horse or pony team for the season, unless unforeseen circumstances arise with the horse or pony; i.e., death or permanent injury. If the horse/pony should become permanently injured or die, points may be transferred to a second horse or pony. If the second horse/pony is permanently injured or dies, the Board of Directors will decide if the points will go to a third horse/pony. If the horse/pony should become permanently injured a vet note is required for points to be transferred.

To receive points towards a division year end award members must show in 3* or more shows during the show season (double pointed shows count as 2), and you must show in every class in the division. For example, to qualify for the Adult English All Around Year End Award, you must show in Adult Hunter Pleasure, Adult Hunter GAYP, AND Adult Hunter Equitation in a minimum of 3 shows. If you do not enter one of the division classes, none of those points in that division that show will count towards the year end award. It is the entire division that qualifies you and your horse.
